On behalf of our Hall Tutors and myself, I would like to extend our very warm welcome to all of you to Global Education Hall. Hall life is an integral part of the Whole Person Education and a hall is not just a hostel providing accommodation facilities for students, but a family that complements the campus education for nurturing the all-rounded development of residents. Education means two things: teaching and cultivation. The college education, i.e. teaching, assures students learnt upon graduation, but what complements knowledge is the virtuous growth from extracurricular activities and communities. Residential life during your education offers a unique opportunity for you to live in your own community. Your active participation in well-designed and well-organized activities can help you create a better sense of community, which is essential to holistic education.

Self-introduction:

I hold B.S. and M.S. from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics (北京航空航天大学), and PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (香港理工大学), respectively. I joined UIC in 2008, and now I am Acting Chief Student Affairs Officer and Associate Professor in Faculty of Business and Management.

我2018年毕业于北京大学，同年加入UIC通识教育学院。在我看来，哲学不仅是思考人生与世界的方法，更是生活本身不可或缺的组成部分。在课堂上，我努力将中西方文化的核心思想传递给学生，期盼他们在接受学术训练的同时，也能在生活中透过哲学的方法，求得心灵的平衡。自2021年9月起，我有幸担任寰雅苑副舍监。通过丰富的苑舍活动，我得以在课堂外与同学们共同生活，这是教与学相互促进的完美诠释。我期待在苑舍活动中与更多学生相遇，共同缔造美好的大学时光。
