I. Project Introduction
The Leadership Path Programme maps out all extracurricular activities that a student may experience in four years of study at BNBU. It assigns “leadership points” to these activities. By organizing and participating in them students gain points based on their roles in and contributions to that particular event. The score is accumulated and will be shown on the student’s record. Awards will be given to recognize their participation and devotion to the betterment of the college community.
II. Project Participants
All full-time BNBU students are eligible to participate.
III. Criteria of Scoring
1. For participation in student activities [1]
Role[2] | Mass Activity (Participants≥300) | Medium-sized Activity (100≤Participants≤299) | Small Activity (Participants<100) | Lecture | Workshop | Training Programme[3] | |
<= 1 day | > 1 day | ||||||
Participant[5] | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
Presenter[6] | 10 | 7 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 7 |
Performer[7] | 10 | 7 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 7 |
Volunteer[8] | 8 | 6 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 6 |
Working Staff[9] | 14 | 10 | 7 | 7 | 7 | 7 | 10 |
Responsible Person[10] | 20 | 15 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 15 |
[1] Multiple activities of the same series or theme are only scored once, such as preliminary/final/regional competitions, exhibition weeks, series of lectures, etc. If you play multiple roles in the same activity, only the role with the highest score will be counted. Ice-breaking activities within student organizations are considered medium-size or small activities (calculated only once per academic year), and new members recruitment and meetings within student organizations do not earn points.
[2] All roles and positions in paid/remunerated activities do not earn points (e.g., internships, Resident Student Tutors, work-study programs, etc.).
[3] Training programs must be certified by the campus, and participants should participate voluntarily and free of charge to be scored.
[4] If the actual number of participants in an activity exceeds 100, it is considered as medium-sized activity by default. A mass activity typically requires more than 300 actual participants, and this will also be considered and judged based on related reference indicators. These indicators include an actual number of participants exceeding 300 (excluding working staff, volunteers, performers), video or picture materials from different stages of the activity (preparation, during the activity etc.), working hours (including preparation period, day of the event, etc.), venue capacity (floor area), the number of staff members, activity budget amount, and participant range (whether it is only for a specific group), etc. If you want to apply for leadership points as a large-scale activity, you need to submit relevant proof materials to the SAO-SSLDT at the end of the semester. The working group for Student Leadership Path Programme will comprehensively consider and approve large-scale activities each semester based on specific circumstances, and a defense may be required if necessary.
[5] Participants refer to roles involved in the activity, excluding the responsible, working staff, volunteers, performers, and presenters.
[6] Presenters refer to those who share in the activity, such as lecturers/guest speakers, etc.
[7] Performers refer to those who perform in the activity, such as dancers/actors/singers/musicians, etc.
[8] Volunteers refer to those who need to be recruited through procedures such as registration, such as sending a recruitment email to all students.
[9] Generally, it is recommended that there are no more than 25 working staff for small activities, no more than 40 for medium-sized activities, and no more than 70 for mass activities. If there are special circumstances that exceed the recommended number, a detailed explanation is required.
[10] Responsible person refers to the person who is mainly responsible for the implementation of the entire activity. Generally, it is recommended that there are no more than 2 responsible persons for small activities and lectures, no more than 5 for medium-sized activities, and no more than 10 for Mass activities. If there are special circumstances that exceed the recommended number, a detailed explanation is required.
Activities of student teams/groups or school teams under the certain Department/unit must submit registration form for the activity to SAO-SSLDT at T5-101 within 15 working days after the end of the activity. SAO-SSLDT will comprehensively evaluate the nature and scale of the activity. After approval, students can earn corresponding points.
The name list of participants of the activities must be provided by the organizer of the activity.

Student teams/groups and school teams under the certain Department/Unit need to submit a complete organization charter, organizational structure, and succession methods to ssldt@uic.edu.cn.
The tenure of all members of unqualified clubs and cancelled clubs will not be counted towards the leadership points.
